Yesterday was the first day of the rest of our lives.

Mom is home.

She was absolutely thrilled to be back. We could hardly keep her from roaming around the house in her wheelchair, giving rides to her great-grandchildren and fully reclaiming her space. It didn’t take long for her to make herself at home again.

We want to thank everyone who helped with the move and for all of the welcome-home signs along the way. It meant more than you know.

She spent most of the evening in her recliner answering phone calls from family, petting her dogs, and trying to stay awake during her favorite shows. She went to bed early and was so excited to sleep in her own bed again.

It is truly wonderful to have her home.
